Apex Digital and Limelight Online are now Limelight Digital

In March of 2003 Apex Digital was born in the beautiful coastal city of New Plymouth. Its primary service offering was web development, and not long after, it started offering customers services for what was known then as 'internet marketing'. After many successful years of helping businesses all over New Zealand and Australia an opportunity came about to acquire an established business based in Christchurch.

That business was rebranded to Limelight Online, a digital agency with similar service offerings. From February 2009 Limelight Online operated under its parent company Apex Digital. Since that time the company has worked under the two brands. With North Island customers generally being served under the Apex Digital brand and the South Island customers being served under the Limelight Online brand, with each brand leveraging skills and expertise from team members in each location.

Fast forward to November 2024, the two brands were successfully merged and now exist as Limelight Digital. Some of the main benefits of the merge include the following:

Streamline the business

We can now avoid situations where we need to duplicate things. Such as sending comms out under each brand or publishing blogs or updates to each website. This makes many tasks far more streamlined. This simplifies our communications and marketing immensely.

Unify business objectives and strategy

Previously each brand had slightly different identities, objectives and strategies. This added another level of complexity when it came to making business decisions. By unifying these components into one we have a clear path and greater ease for aligning those decisions to our objectives and strategy.

Reduce operational costs

When it comes to running advertising campaigns having two brands can get expensive. We now only need to work on our single brand, effectively halving our cost and time consumed.

Leverage strengths across the business

Now we can confidently leverage our expertise and combine resources across the business with ease. Consolidating our business into one brand makes it much easier to manage our projects. We can assign our experts on tasks without concern that they will be occupied on another assignment on the other brand.

Improve brand recognition

We can now concentrate our efforts on a single brand. With plenty of fierce competition in the market it’s more important than ever to be recognised for good work. Having two brands can dilute that important brand recognition. Now all our work will be united under one brand and will continue to strengthen our reputation.

Merge finance, legal and regulatory compliance obligations

Having two brands can be a real headache when it comes to the legal and finance side of things. In our business it is crucial to ensure we are meeting our legal and regulatory compliance obligations. Particularly around the topic of customer data security. Having one brand allows one legal framework to encompass the entire business. This is far more efficient when covering those legal requirements.

We have also moved office in New Plymouth

Along with this merger our New Plymouth team has moved into a new and improved office space. This office has been custom designed to fuel even more creative energy and results for our clients.

We have a brand new website

With all these major changes we also had to include a new website. Check it out at https://www.limelightdigital.co.nz for a fresh look at our work and services.

The team here at Limelight Digital is well positioned to embrace all the exciting rapid developments that are happening in our industry. Get in touch today to discuss what we can do for your business!
